Tarleton Rocket Team Visits Hico

The Hico Science Club and Hico Rocket Team had a combined meeting and were able to have a friendly competition. The Tarleton Rocket Team visited us. Their members are: Dr. Ruaa Al Mezrakchi, Austin Davidson, Zackery Watson, Jackson Black, Austin McKee and Matthew Glass. After they were finished with their presentation, we split into groups to make paper airplanes. We could add paper clips, straws and as much tape as we wanted to make the airplane fly longer.

The Results!

On October 20, 2021 we got our bacteria results. There was some places that we expected to be more bacteria than their was. For example a piece of gum on a table had no bacteria. Some of the places that we thought were going to be clean were not as clean. For example the main entrance was one of the dirtiest places that we swabbed. There was many interesting places such as under a trash can and under a trophy case.

On Thursday the 14th of October, we had a rocket club meeting. Dustin Goates and Anne Marie from Schreiber Foods (the cheese plant in Stephenville) helped us with our meeting. The activity was that we were able to swab any where in the school. On Wednesday the 20th of October, we will meet again. the winner with the dirtiest swab would get a prize.
Rocket Team Elects Officers

On the first meeting of the Rocket Science Club, we got to pick our officers. We’d like to congratulate all of our officers for Rocket Science. The Director of communication is Henry from sixth grade. For Secretary we chose Harper from seventh grade. For Vice President we elected Luke from sixth grade. For our President we elected Mia from sixth grade. For our next meeting we will get to do a bacteria activity. We are all excited for all the fun activities we will get to do this year.
