Champion Day
By Lizeth Martinez
Today in Rocket Club was a crazy day! Today was also Championship Day where we get people to come in and tell us about a problem they have and all year long we work on a crazy solution for the problem.
We first got separated into a girl and boys team. Then we got introduced to Mrs.Stegall the Hico ISD superintendent and she was the championship for the boys. Her problem was that when she goes to a track meet, or cross country meet or any outside sport/games she wears glasses and when it rains her glasses get wet and gets raindrops all over them. The boys came up with two solutions number one was to make a necklace with a squeegee on the end so when she uses it it wipes away the water. Solution number two was to put little vibrating motors on the side of her glasses so when she uses it it vibrates the water off.
Second we got introduced to Dr.Leech who is a professor at Tarleton State University she had the girls team. Her problem was that her house always has tons of bugs everywhere and she wants to get rid of them ,but we did have restrictions with this one. First we had to get rid of the bugs without seeing them because it scares and grosses out her daughter. Restriction number two was that we can't kill the bugs because her husband is vegetarian.
The girls solution was to make the Bug Snatcher 3000. The Bug Snatcher 3000 is a small round thing that is kind of a flytrap it's open and when it feels motion or a sensation inside it immediately snatches the bug inside keeping it trapped inside. Then to release it it would have a release button to open it up and release the bug outside without seeing it or killing it. That was all our amazing creations we did in Rocket Club! Have a good day to all!!!

We Learned to 3D Design
By Camilla Robles
The Hico Rocket Team had a meeting. We got to learn about 3D design. All the girls had a choice to design either a name tag or a picture. We were walked though it and helped by Mr. Gentner and Mrs. Gerber. The name tag we designed could be used as a dog collar, key chain and much more. Mr. Gentner would 3D print our choice. Everyone had fun as we learned to 3D design.

Rocket Team Elects Officers!
By Lizeth Martinez
Today in Hico Rocket Team, we did some amazing stuff! We started off by introducing to the sixth graders what all cool stuff we will be doing throughout the year. Besides that and most importantly, we would be voting and electing officers. Officers are Director of Communication, Vice President, and lastly President. Director of Communication will be taking pictures of all the astonishing stiff we will be doing all year long. Vice President and President will be switching writing articles for the newspaper about rocket team and what we do.
In order to vote for officers, students raised their hands and gave names to write on the board for nominations for that position. After that, we all received sticky notes and wrote one of the names for our one vote. Helpers then took up all the sticky notes and counted the votes. Lastly, whoever had their name on the most sticky notes would be elected for that position. We repeated this for each position.
Ruby Perez was elected for Director of Communication. Camila Robles was elected for Vice President. Lastly, Lizeth Martinez was elected for President. Congrats to all our winners and have an amazing day.
